...I've seen photo's posted on social media of children in different settings...as an example with pets...friends...parents...social gatherings.. ..on and on....this was a cultural event and the sponsors were clear about photo's that could be taken...and when a certain dance came up that no photo's could be taken .....it was broadcast by public announcement over a PA system that "NO" photo's could be taken..which I obeyed with and put my camera down or put away till it was fine to take photo's...as far as permission there was no indication photo's could not be taken of any of the dancer's..there were photographers from all over Canada and some from foreign countries at this event. I do know at certain events...First Nations Tribes will not allow any photography of dance's or dancer's adult or children be it outside or in culturally sensitive buildings such as a big house ...Also...there is no way in this world..I would ever take a photograph of a child that would be considered offensive in nature. I will research a bit more and if this is considered an offensive photo I will remove same without hesitation.
Beautiful and colourful! I was wondering though...does one need permission from the parents to publicly post children shots? Legalities can be a bit tricky, even if it was a public event. I have some similar shots, but have refrained from posting them... Do you have any insight into this matter?

I can't see why anyone would take offense at this photo. It is a beautiful shot taken at a public event.
