Another desert mammal. It is not as obviously marked as the Harris Antelope Ground Squirrel previously posted, being mostly a sandy brown colour which mimics the desert sand. It is active all year, although it may go into a state of torpor during the coldest months of winter. The Round-tailed Ground Squirrel, like the previously posted Harris Antelope GS, are frequently preyed upon by coyotes and badgers and snakes.
