This is the Maligne River in Jasper National Park, where it widens and turns into Medicine Lake. Medicine Lake has a complex underground drainage system and the lake that forms in the spring and into the summer disappears later in the year. This is a the less photographed south end of Medicine Lake, with the Medicine Lake Slabs in the background.
