Fresque des Québécois - Place Royale (Royal Square) - Part of the '' Fresque des Québécois '' which was inaugurated on October 17, 1999. The mural pays tribute to several historical figures and dozens of writers and artists from Quebec. Here on Place Royale, nicknamed '' the cradle of French civilization in North America '', Samuel de Champlain, who founded Quebec July 3, 1608, began construction the same year, of a fortified post, the first Quebec settlement.
