Mr. van Horne was the General Manager of the construction of the Canadian Pacific Railway in the late 1870's. This spot, located on Ministers Island, near Saint Andrews, NB was a working farm where he would spend his summers. Winters he spent in Montreal, and received daily rail shipments of the farm's produce - milk and butter, meats of all types, veggies and so on. If you visit remember that the spot can only be reached (and left from) by a sandbar that is well underwater at high tide. Almost got caught once myself..
