I've been hunting Yellow-billed Cuckoos these last few days (with my camera that is) and I finally got some shots. The lighting was a challenge, but the posted pics show and interesting sequence. When a female started raising and lowering its tail and looking sideways, I figured something was up. A male soon arrived with a twig in its beak which it then offered to the female. Funny thing, I photographed Cuckoos mating years ago at the same place (near the Roland Road entrance to the Short Hills Provincial Park in the Niagara Region) ... although that time the male offered lady bird a juicy caterpillar.
