Known commonly as a woodland pinedrop, this Pterospora andromedea plant is a mycoheterotroph. It relies on a parasitic relationship with fungi, as it has no chlorophyll and is not capable of photosynthesis. This one was found in Saskatchewan's Cypress Hills Interprovincial Park.
