Blue

Stranded waves become mirrorlike, reflecting the blue sky and clouds at Lakeshore Lodge at Sandbanks Provincial Park in Prince Edward County, Ontario. This summer season has been particularity hard for the environment at the park due to increased tourism. Many neighbouring municipalities have closed their beaches due to Covid-19, and so Sandbanks has become one of the few places to escape the heat this summer between Toronto and Montreal. Despite that, park staff have been working hard to maintain their Blue Flag designation, a recognition by MNR of the environmental initiatives implemented in the park. Sandbanks is one of only two provincial parks to receive this designation.
