A Pine Grosbeak enjoys a meal of seed pods on a black ash tree and you just know winter has set in when these birds appear.

Very beautyful shot Heather. Debra said it all. I appreciate that the red colour of the bird is profound. Lighting on the seeds put a little joy. And the nice pale blue sky is perfect to enhence the subject. Nice, nice.

Thank you Debra. They are very nice birds with a sweet melodic song and I tried to get up closer for a better shot but they're quite flighty. I felt fortunate to get the shots I did though and it's always a treat to see these birds.

Wow very nice bird and composition Heather. I love how the Grosbeaks chest follows the same line as the branch, perfect angle. The seed pods add a lot of texture and interest to the photo. Nicely captured Heather.
