Base Mountain

Sunrise over Calabogie Peaks resort. A hidden gem in Eastern Ontario. Favourite time of day, no other noise apart from the hum of the snow cannons. Beautifully cold and pristinely groomed snow ready to be carved by skiers throughout the day. I love this photograph because for me it really feels like you can feel how cold the air is on your face when you look at it. That refreshing burst as you step out into negative 20 weather and it wake you right up for the day. The sunrise on this day was absolutely spectacular and I love the composition. The busy sky with the cannon bursting with snow juxtaposed with the smooth clean untouched snow.
