The Great Grey Owl has been the official bird for the province of Manitoba since July 16, 1987. The great grey owl is the largest owl in North America. I have enjoyed many walks in Birds Hill Park and this is the first encounter with the great grey owl. I hope that the owl is nesting in the area and not just passing through looking for food.
