This Belted Kingfisher was on a hydro wire near Masset, Haida Gwaii when I came upon it but it flew. I followed it and managed to get a slightly better perch for my photo.

Terrific shot of that bird Harold. Focus is dam sharp on the guy and the birch tree branches. I am chasing that bird for two years now. It is true that approaching them is not easy. So far I never got close enough for a shot like yours. Colours are great to.
