Western Red-tailed Hawks have three shades classed as light, intermediate and dark. This Red-tailed, which has taken up residence near my home, is a light juvenile.

A beautiful capture, very nice detail and eye contact. They reside in my region too and I love to hear their soft screech as they glide between the trees nearby.

He is giving you his best side Harold, love how he is looking over his shoulder at you really shows of the back feathers nicely.
