The forest at West Point, within the boundaries of Sandbanks Provincial Park, is small but contains some very old hardwoods that have been there since before anyone came here. The foot of this Hard Maple (Acer saccharum) has acquired it's own micro ecosystem that's just coming back to life in the early spring light.
