With the welcome rain we have had the last couple of days the water from the swampy area is backing into the ditches. This male and female Mallard couple are enjoying their larger swimming hole for a while. There is a beaver dam in the back of this area that natural resources has been working on opening up a bit so the water can go down.

Beautiful, Debra!
Another great one. Nice that you show how the lady hide well in the surrounding. The shot from the back is my prefered one of the female. It shows all the various feathers and colour tone.. But we have to wait for the lady to turn his head (what you did). Very beautyfull.
This female, as Heather states, stands out in front of the grasses and the crossed sticks add character and hold the eye around the duck.
Loads of detail in this one Debra.. so crisp and colorful too. She stands out very nicely against the patch of greenery behind her. Glad you're getting that much needed rainfall, it must be a huge relief for the farmers.
