Here is a red-necked grebe collecting a stick to add the floating nest. The parents had one precious egg which they took turns guarding while their partner collected materials to shore up the nest. Watching grebes do grebe things is highly entertaining.

I love how this image draws the viewer in to the focal point. Beautiful tones and detail and a sight you certainly don't see every day.. what a great shot!
An excellent shot without the stick, Aaron, but the stick certainly adds to the story. The softness in the Grebe stands out from the soft background and foreground and the colours are perfect.
