On my way home from the park in the distance I could see something running across the gravel road and into a farm field. It was a mother bear with what looked like a one year old cub. By the time I caught up to them and grabbed my camera I was blessed with a sideways glance and the rear end of the littler bear making tracks across the field. I believe the black bears had a good winter as there has been quite a few black bear sightings this spring.

Debra, I love the bears in the field and the lines created by the planted rows which pull the eye away from the right side and down towards the big tree in the centre and the white fence on the left which hold the eye in the scene. Mother bear is giving you that backward look that says, Do not mess with my cub.

Wow! What a great opportunity you had. And you caught it beautyfuly. Seem to be at full sunlight but colours are perfect. The pitch black bears really attract the eye. Love the split texture between the forest and the field. The white fence well oppose the black of the bears. Very well done Debra.

An awesome capture of this beautiful pair Debra! That glance she gave you and those footpads on the cub hi-tailing it across the field take this image to another level. I love the composition, beautiful tones and detail in this shot and in what had to be a totally unexpected and very exciting photo opportunity.
