I visited the Osprey nest today with the hopes that the chicks would now be big enough to poke their heads over the nest...no such luck. The female Osprey was busy feeding chicks at this point I still don't know how many. In this picture she was taking a moment for the wind to ruffle her feathers in the hopes of cooling off. It is a very windy and humid day with a high of 31 degrees predicted for Winnipeg and area. The male Osprey was watching from a nearby hydro pole and in no hurry to go anywhere.

Beautiful capture with awesome details in this sharp shot.. well done
A beautiful capture of Mama Osprey on the nest with ruffled feathers and great eye contact Debra. It has to be a challenging location to nest in at times and I hope the heat wave won't be too hard on them. I'm looking forward to seeing the chicks too!
Love that shot Debra. Glad to have news of the osprey family. I like the compo you gave. Colours are great. I like the way she looks at me with those ruffle feathers around his head. Very nice.
Nice focus, Debra! The puffed up feathers have caught some light which may not have been there without the wind. I'm looking forward to seeing the young.
