I don't know if this Blacktail Buck heard this tree fall but it's a good thing he wasn't under it. Strong winds knocked this sixty foot tree down and makes you wonder how safe the animals are in a forest.

Great pose of that friendly buck Harold and a nice reflexion about their security in the forest. Like the white line of the dead tree that cross the picture just over its head.

I have pondered that same thought as well Harold. We can only hope that as the tree is crackling and popping before the fall the animals have time to run away from the danger. This image tells the story of survival in the forest. A successful image and story.
