This Beaver resides in a number of sloughs or water basins on Haida Gwaii that are joined by creeks. He spends his time damming up both ends and checking on them regularly. A couple of these water basins empty into others under roadway pipes so the road crews have to come in and break the dams when the water gets too high. This keeps the beaver in work so he doesn't have to collect unemployment wages.

All was love the bever Shot He is woghing but yet heading awhy
I took at least a dozen photos to select this one which I caught in the right light, Debra. Like you, I'm hoping to catch this fellow out of the water. Even slapping his tail might be nice. They often come out just before dark so I'll keep at it.
They probably help keep the road crews off of EI too.. so everyone's happy, right? lol Beautiful water tones here as he glides through them with ease. A nice story and a lovely image Harold.
Nice story, Harold. A hard working Canadian, he is!!
Nice lighting on the Beaver Harold. Water is a beautiful shade of blue. I like how he has his eye on you as he swims on by and the little wake that he generates. Sounds like he has his work cut out for him.
