Out of Water

I had hoped to get a shot of this Beaver out of water and he didn't disappoint. I watched him swim in a water basin for some time and then he leisurely went under the overhanging branches of a tree and slipped out onto something, I'm not sure what. I could see him under there as the light was shining nicely to light him up. It looked like he was feeding on something. After some time he moved further back toward the edge of the basin. I suppose this is his summer home.

Wonderful colors and detail in this shot, Harold.. and the reflections are beautiful. You caught the beaver in a perfect pose, eyes open and going about his busy day. It's such a treat to see a close-up of a beaver in such detail and I especially like how the light hit his coat.

Hello guys! What a wonderful shot at the beaver Harold. The beaver is very well details and colours are vibrant all over the picture. Like that you caught him out of the water but still in. The wakes and reflection on the foreground are doing a good job leading the eyes to the beaver. The dark background is doing the same and the bunch of leaves just over him force the eyes to stick there. Perfect compo.

I haven't seen any sign of a family yet, Debra, but I'll be keeping an eye out as long as he is there. I do hope you get yours. Thanks a lot!

That is the shot I am hoping for Harold, very nicely captured. The light illuminates the leaves hanging down above the beaver bringing ones eye down to the beaver in his element. The slight movement in the water and the reflection of vegetation in the water is beautiful. My eye is also pulled to the darkness behind the beaver leaving me wondering if he has a family back in there or if he is just stopping here for a moments rest. Lovely shot Harold.
