I had wanted to photograph bird breath for some time and what better species to do that with than this one. On this morning, it was cold, clear and calm - the 3 Cs needed to make this work. To capture such a shot, you need to shoot in the direction of the sun just as it is coming up. A dark background is important for the breath to be visible.
