The Emperor in the Disney movie Mulan said, "The flower that blooms in adversity is the most rare and beautiful of all." This rare, wild lake iris is the perfect example. Found on the hiking trail at Kejimkujik Seaside Adjunct National Park, I was amazed at its tenacity and beauty as it popped right through the rocks. Perhaps we as humans can take heart from its example.
