While walking down to the dock I interrupted this female merganser sleeping. She and another female decided it was time to take flight for another bay.

Wow! better be proud of that one Debra. The pose of the bird is unique and spectacular. And the 1/2000 aperture make it to freeze the action with great details. The drop of water in mid air, the feathers of the wings and the sparkle in the eye. Magic.
