I captured this gorgeous view from the dock of my family cabin at Child’s Lake, MB. The cabin was one of the first build at Child’s Lake, and was built by my great grandfather in his youth when he was one of Duck Mountain’s head conservation officers. The cabin has been passed through our family for decades and so this view holds a special place in my heart. My grandma and I like to think when the sky is lit up like fire from a sunset that it’s our grandfather saying hello to the mountain that he once saved from the raging forest fire that gave the famous Baldy Mountain (highest elevation in Manitoba, Canada) it’s name. I was fortunate to have my camera this evening to capture the beauty.
