A pair of cygnets feed together in the shallows of Crystal Lake. From a distance they look much alike but up close you see how individual looking they really are. And although they were too busy feeding to pay much attention to us I notice from the photos that some of them kept a watchful eye on the activity at the dock. In typical swan fashion.

The angle really shows off both of the swans nicely. I can see the differences you are talking about Heather. Nice to see two together feeding but also keeping track of their surroundings. Very nice opportunity for you, captured beautifully.

Very nice pose of the pair expressing their tendency to stay close one to the other. Not much stricking colors (a chalenge for the photographer) but their soft tone color fit well the shallow water, giving a calm mood effect.
