Trumpeter Swans have just arrived in Rideau Lakes from the Canadian Tundra. Our biggest bird...a male like this guy--can have an eight foot wingspan. He brought a batch of of mottled signets. with him. If we are lucky the Trumpeters will over-winter here on open water or the by-washes of the Rideau Canal.
