    One of those birds I associate with the Winter Solstice and Christmas. I caught this one about to take flight on a windy afternoon from a weeping birch tree. It's one of the few trees that keep their leaves throughout the winter.

    Great timing and precision focus really showcases the beautiful plumage of the Grosbeak. The leaves add some nice contrast to the winter background.
