As we travelled the lush channels of the Gitga'at Traditional Territory, e came upon a new face. A spirit bear, only found in this part of the world. A rare sight on any given day, this beautiful creature sat with us for a long time as he plucked and chewed on the barnacles at the base of the shoreline. This is a bear unfamiliar to the forest guardians and quite possibly the first time people have ever laid eyes on him!
