Against the embankment of the sludge lagoons in Blenheim, Ontario, hiding beside a bush, just inside of an outcrop, hunkered down waiting and waiting for this American Avocet to slowly find its way over to me. Over time it did and boy was I rewarded greatly! Between the grasses, on the waters edge, it finally gave me the shot I'd been waiting for. These birds are such an incredible looking bird and very rare in our area, if at all. If but migration, we'd never see them!
