Out on back trails exploring, another photographer comes out & says, oh have you guys seen the great grey owl already? I laughed since it is a very uncommon sighting for the area, and figured they were pulling our leg.. Sure enough they described where the area was, and if we were lucky (since we had a walk and a bit to get there) that we might see it! We came to a the field and saw nothing... A bit disappointed, but we had figured we wouldn't see it anyway, rounded a corner and there were two other photographers with their cameras up. To say I cried happy tears when I saw this magnificent animal after looking for almost 7 years, is an understatement! I won't be sharing the actual location information as it could easily become baited & harassed.
