Worth the Risk

My family and I were walking some trails and the river was very high. We got to this spot where a bunch of ferns were under water and I thought it would be a really cool shot. Only problem was, my phone had a recent screen replacement and was having a lot of issues with it soon after. As I hold my phone over the water, about to submerge the camera, my brother spoke up and asked if that was a good idea, as my phone might not be waterproof anymore. I thought about it, but continued to place the camera under water and took some photos. I was so happy with the shot and my phone, so far, was okay. About half an hour later was when I started noticing it was having more problems. My brother joked that I should send the photo to one of them, so it wouldn't get lost. Getting back to his house, my phone would no longer turn on and I didn't send the photo to anyone and that's when I started panicking. The next morning I decided to plug it into my laptop to see if I could back it up and it worked! As soon as I backed it up, I unplugged it from my laptop and my phone completely died after that, but I got the photo!!
