Although the drake (male) Wood Duck is more colorful, the female has their own distinct features, the white outline around their eyes and the dark blue and purple wing feathers. This one is resting on top of a rock after her morning feeding, she's preening and stretching. Sony A7R IV, Sony FE 200-600mm, X 2 Teleconverter, f/13, 1/500 sec, ISO 1000.
