In a very quiet and peaceful pond I spotted a Swan swimming towards the mound of bullrushes where she lied down on a nest. I am pretty sure this is a trumpeter swan not a tundra. I am unable to see any yellow on the base of the bill. She is definately nesting in the bullrushes. I had trouble editing tis phot as the colour ws really off this day due to all the wild fire smoke blowing in from Northern Saskatchewan wild fires.

It does look like a peaceful scene, Debra. Nice composition, and glad you didn't disturb the bird.
You realy got the peaceful feeling of the scene Dabra with the life doing its way within. Good compo of the water and reeds. Often think of you about those wild fires you are stuck with in the west.
what a great shot. The composition is amazing.
You captured this awesome view in excellent composition and detail and on viewing it in the zoom I agree that she certainly looks like a trumpeter swan. The tones reflect the reality of these terrible smoke-filled skies and the impact they must be having on birds and other wildlife. It's a beautiful capture of this memorable encounter Debra.
