    This American Coot is finding snails and feeding them to her chicks. The coot is often found mixing with ducks. The hatchlings bare red spots on their heads have started to turn to a pale greyish colour of the juvenile coot.

    Nice timing on this one Debra, your patience paid off with a great view of the chicks at feeding time. The swirls frame the trio beautifully and you captured them in very nice detail here.

    Wow! what a great shot you'v done there. The black round wakes leads the eyes to the coots. Have you wait long to get that nice position of the coots?
