Out with the kayak a few times recently, I was able to find a few Green Herons, my favorite herons. I'm always happy to find a few of these...I've NEVER seen this before from a Green Heron....for a half a second I wondered if I had an American Bittern...but knowing otherwise I was witnessing a behavior I hadn't ever seen before...I think its pretty cool... This one seen and photographed along the Tay River in Lanark County, eastern Ontario
