    I was photographing some other birds, when I heard a couple of Pileated Woodpeckers in the area. I caught this male just before it flew in behind the trees. These guys are so hard to catch while flying and look awkward for the most part, so to get this photo, I was pretty happy!

    How were you able to distinguish? I've never heard them make a sound other than knock knock knocking! I will have to Youtube.
