After a direct hit from a fast-moving coronal mass ejection, we were treated to a beautiful display of the Aurora Borealis with some fantastic Coronas and ethereal pulsing displays of a rather unusual shade of green that I don't see too often and some beautiful violet highlights.

We've just had great auroral displays here on Manitoulin Island, same night, but I've always wanted a shot like this, which reminds me of the first time I saw northern lights way down in Toronto back in the 70s--rising straight up to the zenith like this. Nice shot, Jo!
