The night is reality as the veil of daylight lifts away, especially in this alpine air at Bow Lake (1920m) Banff. We've just returned from a magical weekend at the newly re-opened Lodge at Bow Lake, under the direction and management of Bruce Millar (Known to many from his and Alison's management of Lake O'Hara). Only a few steps away from the lodge, this scene transpired silently in the cool midnight air, while the lights of the lodge went out for the night. With an ear always alert for sounds from the dark bushes behind, I experimented with different compositions and settings. This exposure is 20 seconds, with an ISO of 6400, and f2.8 aperture at 14mm.
