A moment of stillness between the showers of light rain created a mirror reflection on Bow Lake. It was Calendar pictures of our Canadian Rockies that drew me to Calgary for post secondary education over three decades ago, and it's here that the landscape still has a hold on me. In a couple of hours drive from the city, there are places like this where it feels as though it is another world. North of the TransCanada highway, there is no cell phone reception here, which adds to the experience of simply 'being present'.
