It is hard to explain the feeling of seeing this pack (even tho just 3, apparently they are still a pack). We spent probably upwards of 21 hours tracking wildlife and had all but given up and were actually making jokes about how....well, it was beautiful scenery but as well, you'd have thunk we'd see a wolf or lynx. This is a running joke for when we go out on one of these excursions because those are the two elusive animals we'd never expect to find...and within 5 minutes I was like.....holy f! Look - wolves! Not photographed were the 3 bears we saw (adult alone, and 2 cubs)....they were way too skittish but these wolves, after staring us down for some time, carried on about their business but did stay in our vicinity. It was pretty cool....and a case of what you think about comes about. A few years back, this same train of thought...the exact same type of conversation....and presto....a lynx sunning itself on the side of the road.
