"The bison were re-introduced in Riding Mountain National Park as a display herd, today they are valued as much more. Their life cycle is intimately intertwined with the health of the prairie and its other inhabitants". information taken from RRNP website While driving carefully through the enclosure it is quite common to encounter the bison crossing the road. This lady decided to stop and give us her best side to photograph.

Just the perfect pov and compo on this shot. She stands out so well here against the softly muted and scenic background view. A striking and beautiful portrait capture in every detail Debra. I appreciate the narrative.. it's good to see more bison being returned to the land where they belong.
Love that one Debra. Sure put a smile on my face. You patiently need the guy to get out of the way to move on. Once more, great focus on the beast. I don't know how you did it but the dark bison realy pops out. Maybe the slight fog or fumes has to do with it. Like your work and waiting for your next shots.
