I wanted to venture into the dense vegetation surrounding the Heron Pond but then I saw the hawk skirting the area from far away. I stayed on the road right on the edge of the pond, watching the bird and luckily for me it flew in close to me and perched on top of a streetlamp. That's the opportunity I was looking for to capture this beautiful raptor as it took off again.
