I wasn't expecting to see much of a sunset on the drive home that late afternoon but then I noticed Mount Robson jutting up from the horizon so I headed across to my favorite lookout point hoping to get there before it got too dark. These ranges are part of the northern Rockies located along the Alberta/BC border and this photo was taken just before the snows came.

It is those last minute sunsets that can really be special. The sunset closing down onto the mountain peaks is beautiful Heather. And the foreground detail is still nicely exposed.
Thank you for your comment Yves, always appreciated. It's a tricky view to photograph, especially at that time of day, but I wanted to be able to see Mount Robson which is the highest peak in the Canadian Rockies and as much of the range as possible. The photos I took later have nicer sunset colours but the range doesn't show as well as this one with the sun shining on it.
Pretty glowing sunset Heather. Good idea you have to get to the view point. I don't no for you but I tend to keep an eye on the little tree on the left. Very nice sunset.
