One of the rare photos in which I was able to get all six cygnets in the same frame. They were watching the other adult swan approach before heading across the lake. As far as I know four cygnets eventually migrated south with their parents. Unfortunately one died during a severe storm and another was taken by a coyote.

Beautiful Shot Heather! The lighting and attention to detail including the drops from the beak are spot on,

Stunning capture Heather. From the shimmering water to the droplets of water coming off the beak. I love how you darkened the background and the swans beak ever so nicely floats above the background. Nice composition that would have been tough getting the cygnets all in close enough. I am sure this will be a very beautiful print.

Thank you so much Yves. I agree, the colours of the water reflections were amazing and provided a nice balance to the dock in the background which I darkened to remove the distractions on it. I wanted the swan and cygnets to be the feature in this image so it can be printed..

Great shot Heather. So cute are the little signets. The mother is well detailed and the water reflection is just gorgeous. The black background realy enhence the family.
