Dark-eyed Juncos are common winter birds throughout southern Canada and the US. It can be easy to overlook their simple beauty. I like this image for how it details a male junco's colouration but also for the dreamy atmosphere created by getting low and finding a clear view through a "twig tunnel" to the snowbird and beyond.
