This 16,500-tonne giant came to rest at this site near Okotoks, Alberta after completing a journey of some 300 kms approximately 15000 years ago. It was part of a massive rock slide at Mt Edith Cavell near Jasper and fell onto a gigantic ice sheet that then transported it to this location.

What a amazing capture of this view Clifford. That streaky background sky sets the boulders off perfectly here and the foreground walks the viewer into the scene so perfectly. A truly fab capture of one of the wonders of nature. This would make a great jigsaw puzzle too btw. So well done..

Hi Clifford! Those massive rock are beautyful and you frame them so they are the star in the picture.. Of course we know about boulders moved by glacier but that big is impressive. Appreciate that you included the Trail that confirm we can't go straight. Nice shot.
