Northern Parula

I find the Northern Parula to be one of the prettiest little warblers that passes regularly through our area of southwestern Ontario. They are fairly small and can easily be missed in the treetops where they often hunt for spiders and insects. I encountered this fellow a couple of weeks ago as he foraged for insects among crabapple blossoms. Warblers often seem to be in high gear as they dart amongst the branches. Seems to me their abilities at perceiving and responding to their environment are at a completely other level to mine. Their movements and speed often make photography a challenge. But every once in a while they give photographers a gift, as on this morning.
