There was a lot of bird chatter going on down from the trees where I was standing with my camera so I focused in on the branch where I had spotted two Eastern Kingbirds. While I was taking photos this young fledgling took what appeared to be its first attempt to fly and landed successfully in a nearby tree I believe. I felt pretty fortunate to have been there at the right time to capture the moment. Just above them is the nest and what appeared to be two more nestlings who will soon be ready to try their luck.

A very important moment in the life of these birds. So glad you had the opportunity to capture the moment. A nice action shot with beautyful colours. I love those birds too. They are easy to find and make nice picture.

That certainly would have been an exciting and memorable moment to witness. The perched Kingbird definitely has something to say. The opening in the branches frames them nicely against the vivid blue sky. You caught the moment perfectly.
