Bonaparte Gull. This somewhat ragged Bonaparte gull is not that common a visitor to the lagoon. They are much smaller than the other gulls on the seashore. As to their name. "The species is named for Charles Lucien Bonaparte, a French ornithologist (and nephew to the former French emperor Napoleon Bonaparte)" June 29/24 Colwood, British Columbia.
